Almaden to el Real de la Jara - easy 16 km

I was one of the last to set off. Small town with huge solar farm on the way out. Soon into farm land and pig farms with the famous free range iberico pigs. Some big houses on farms in the middle of nowhere. Walked with Hans and knees for a while, two 70+ Germans who don't speak much English or Spanish. Caught up with Gerry and Laia and walked over a big hill, then along a quiet road into El Real de la Jara. Confusion at the Albergue, so decided a beer was the best solution. Renato was there, getting a blistered ankle fixed up before heading to the next town. We all had a rest then checked out the town for supermarket and Internet. Everything closed so will come back when it is cooler. Walked up to the castle. Closed for restoration, but Gerry and I jumped the fence being a good Irishman and Kiwi. Great castle being restored with funding from the EU. On the border of 2 provinces. Lovely warm evening, big groups of cyclists went through.
