One cannot go to Rome and not visit the Colosseum. It is a truly awesome building. We took a guided tour and it was well worth it, plenty of interesting information. Whilst this is stating the obvious, the Colosseum is, well - big, really big. It gives an idea as to how well organised and knowledgeable the Romans were, that they could put up such a large stadium with four levels and that a fair bit of it is still standing nearly 2,000 years later.
